  1. Fill your seed tray or pot with Levington Advance Seed Modular Low Nutrient F1 Compost, leaving about 1-2cm from the top.
  2. Moisten the compost by watering it thoroughly, allowing any excess water to drain away.
  3. Sow your seeds according to the instructions on the packet.
  4. Lightly cover the seeds with a small amount of compost.
  5. Place the tray or pot in a warm, bright location, but out of direct sunlight.
  6. Keep the compost moist by watering gently as needed.
  7. Once your seedlings have developed their second set of true leaves, they can be potted on into larger containers with nutrient-rich compost.

Additional tips:

  • It’s important not to overwater your seeds, as this can lead to waterlogging and disease.
  • If you’re using modular seed trays, it’s a good idea to label each section so you know which seeds are which.
  • Once your seedlings have developed, it’s important to gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them into the garden.

I bought these to keep the liner in my pond down, due to a problem with underground water pushing it up. They are perfect for the job, and would look good anywhere in the garden.
